American Legion Website.
“Still Serving America”
is the motto of The American Legion.
Veterans who continue their
service to America by still serving their communities.
Veterans whose involvement
in the community creates and supports the feeling
of camaraderie which makes The American Legion
the nation’s largest and most respected
organization of veterans.
Our Post is located in Mason,
Michigan in the County Seat of Ingham County.
We are approximately 5.5 miles south of Lansing,
the State Capitol of Michigan. Our meetings
are held at the Masonic Center, corner of E.
Columbia St. and Temple St. on the 4th Monday
of each month at 7:00p.m. Veterans are invited
to attend as a guest if not a current American
Legion member.
We have approximately 90 members
and are always looking for new members.

will NOT accept any additional

Thank You to the Community
and Business members of Mason!
The American Legion Brown/Cavender Post #148
express our thanks for your participation in
our Flag Program. The generous support of the
members of the Mason/Dansville and Holt community
once again increased our flag program for this
year. Much of the proceeds from this program
help to support other veteran and community
organizations, scholarships for our H.S. seniors
in Mason and Dansville, scholarship for our
H.S. bugler, Student Trooper, Boys and Girls
State, maintenance of the Statue Memorial in
front of City Hall, maintenance of the Memorial
at the Courthouse, military flags on the State
St. bridge, and much more.
On eight specific dates during the year, we
place and pick up from your home or business
the flag of our great country. We begin in the
spring on Armed Forces Day, the third Saturday
in May. November 11, Veteran’s Day, is
always the final display date for the year.
The renewal for the new year will be mailed
out early each spring. If you would like to
become a participant in this program, please
call the Legion office at 676-1651 or Doreen
Chapman (517)243-0129 for a flag form. The form
is also available under Programs on this website.
